Abbie's Garden
New fabric alert!
We just adore Sue Daley and all that she creates (she's quite fabulous in case you didn't know) so we were super excited to receive advance yardage of her new collection.
We are absolutely smitten with Abbie's Garden, a collab with Gabrielle Neil for Riley Blake Designs. This is Abbie's second collection, as she returns with her sweet pup, Snags, for a romp in the garden!
The Main Print of Abbie's Garden comes in aqua, pink, and off white and features cutesy scenes of Abbie that really show off her outfits. This print works so well as block centers. It easily fussy cuts into 4.5" squares, perfect for an 8" block!
In our blocks we paired contrasting prints with each color center. When blocks are joined it creates a secondary block that reminds us of an inverted pinwheel.
Abbie's Garden Daisy print is a perfect low volume backdrop for each colored square so the art really pops!
We made 12 blocks, finished with a pieced binding and quilted it with a simple clasp stitch, reminiscent of hand tying. Voila! Now we have a sweet little wall hanging.
