Looking for a fun and festive quilt project? Dive into our Happy Jacs Quilt Tutorial, where you'll learn how to create a playful Halloween quilt. This free pattern is perfect for adding a cheerful touch to your seasonal decor! We made this with the Pumpkin Patch collection by J Wecker Frisch.
This beginner friendly lap quilt is a quick weekend project that is sure to deliver great results.
This pattern is great for showcasing a fabric with a large focal print that will set the tone for the quilt. These jack-o-lantern faces were just too cute to cut into tiny blocks! You can find that fun fabric HERE
Here's what you need:
Approximately 2 1/8 yards focal print (jack-o-lanterns)
1/2 yard black (corner stones and snowballs)
1 1/4 yards white (sashing)
1 1/4 yards border (if making 4" border)
Cut:
10.5" squares of focal print - 20 pcs
2.5" squares of black - 110 pcs
2.5" by 10.5" strips white for sashing - 49 pcs
Cut border after you have pieced the top and have exact measurements.
Sew:
1.) Use a 2.5" square to 'snowball' all four corners of each 10.5" focal square.
2.) Using the main photo for reference, sew 2.5" black squares to sashing pieces to make 6 horizontal rows.
3.) Sew remaining sashing pieces to the sides of focal blocks to make five rows.
4.) Sew the sashing rows to the block rows to complete the quilt top.
5.) Add border as desired.
Quilt finishes at 70" x 58"
